Are You Ready to Tell Authentic, Inclusive Stories?
As a filmmaker, you know that the stories you tell matter. They have the power to shape perceptions, challenge norms, and spark change. But when it comes to telling stories about identity, trauma, and marginalized communities, you need the right collaborator to get it right.
The Problem: Shallow Representation
]The pressure to “diversify” stories often comes without the depth of care required to do so authentically. The industry sometimes encourages creators to use marginalized characters as props or to portray trauma as spectacle, flattening complex identities instead of exploring them with nuance and respect.
This villain whispers things like:
-
“Just make it dramatic.”
-
“We need the pain to be believable.”
-
“Representation is enough.”
It’s easy to fall into the trap of tokenism, stereotyping, or exploiting identity for dramatic impact. But these shortcuts can lead to harm and miss the opportunity for deep, meaningful storytelling.

A Partner Who Understands the Power of Story.
I know how exhausting it is to be vulnerable in spaces that weren’t built with you in mind. That’s why I’ve dedicated my work to creating healing spaces where your full identity isn’t just welcome—it’s essential.

With a BA in Psychology from ITESO Universidad Jesuita de Guadalajara, I bring a culturally grounded perspective to storytelling. As a trained EMDR therapist, I combine evidence-based healing practices with an intersectional approach to identity and trauma.
My background as a filmmaker has taken me across more than 30 national and international film festivals, where my award-winning projects focus on identity, storytelling, and truth-telling. Whether in therapy or film, I believe healing happens in community, through creativity, and in every space where we choose to tell the truth.
Honoring Identity with Depth and Care
When we work together, you’ll gain the tools to create emotionally honest, culturally grounded narratives. You’ll learn how to handle identity-based stories with the care they deserve, avoiding clichés and tokenization while maintaining emotional depth.

The result? Films that resonate with audiences and honor the communities they represent—without sacrificing emotional safety or nuance.

What it's like to work with Sol.
"Working with Sol on The Heart of Texas was nothing short of transformative. She wasn’t just a producer, she was a force. A connector, a problem-solver, a creative partner, and an unwavering advocate for both the story and the people behind it.
Sol brings an extraordinary mix of intellect, instinct, and integrity to every aspect of production. She’s smart in the way that makes you better just by working with her. Thoughtful in the way she balances logistics with empathy. Sharp in every conversation without ever losing the heart of the project.
She doesn’t just get things done, she makes the impossible feel possible. Sol is one of those rare people who lifts a project off the page and into the world with grace, grit, and a kind of magic you can’t teach.
If you have the chance to collaborate with her, take it. Your project will be better. Your team will be stronger. And you’ll walk away grateful you got to work with one of the very best."
